How long does it take for my money to arrive?

The time to transfer money to your Rewire account depends on the mode of transfer as below:

  • Transfer to a bank account - between 10 minutes up to 1 business day
  • Transfer to a Cash Pick up and BDO bank - Immediately
  • Transfer to Mobile Wallet - immediately

*Due to unforeseen circumstances, your transfer could be delayed by a few business days. These circumstances include transfers made on weekends, regulations of the country, public holidays, any change in ID requirements, compliance, time-zone differences, or any other government requirements.

Questions on Sending Money to Nigeria

How can I send money to Nigeria?

Sending money to Nigeria is easy and can be done in one of two ways: bank transfer and cash pickup.

  • Bank transfer: You can send USD to domiciliary accounts in GTBank, Fidelity, UBA, and Access Bank in Nigeria (more banks to follow). Or, you can send money to any FCMB account, and a USD account will automatically be created.
  • Cash pickup: You can send USD for cash pickup *arrives within 30-minutes* See all the available GTBank and Fidelity pickup points across Nigeria. 

Note that NGN cannot be processed due to new CBN regulations.

I added money to my Rewire account. Can I get it back?

Yes. Contact customer support on WhatsApp at +49 1609 941 4871 so that they can credit your account. 

Does the recipient’s account have to be in USD?

Domiciliary accounts: If you send money to a GTBank, Fidelity, UBA, or Access Bank accounts you must make sure that the recipient’s account is allowed to accept USD.

Automatic USD accounts: If you send money to an FCMB account, a USD account will automatically be created. The next time you send money to that account, the funds will automatically be directed to the receiver’s USD account.

What are the fees?
Rewire has a flat fee of up to 1% based on the country you send money to and the amount of transfer.

How to open a Domiciliary Account?

To open a domiciliary account and receive USD international money transfers in Nigeria, you will need the following:

  1. Filled and signed a Domiciliary Account registration form
  2. A copy of an identification document (driver's license, international passport, national ID card, or any other official document that is acceptable by the bank).
  3. A passport photo
  4. Two (2) completed reference forms
  5. A utility bill, under the account holder’s name,  issued within the last 3 months

How can I send cash to Nigeria?

If you want to send cash to Nigeria follow these steps:

  • Click the “Send Money” tab
  • Enter the amount of money you wish to send 
  • Add the receiver's details: first name, last name, city (of the receiver), phone number (of the receiver)
  • Choose the receiving method: cash pickup
  • The receiver needs to say that it's being sent through “THUNES” which is our partner provider and show the order number.

That’s it. The money should arrive within 30 minutes.

How long will it take to process my transfer to Nigeria?

Cash pick-ups are mostly available within 30 minutes.

Bank transfers take up to 1 business day.

 

Will my recipient be notified when the cash is available for pick-up?

Once the cash is available for collection, your recipient will get an update via SMS.

 

What will my recipient need to provide in order to pick-up cash in Nigeria?

In order to receive the cash you sent, your receiver will need:

  • A valid ID 
  • BVN (bank verification number)
  • The reference number he or she received via SMS

What are the limits on sending money?

The limits depend on the mode of deposit:

1. Cash Load fromSuper-Pharm and Post Office - Up to 20K ILS monthly
2. Rewire Card (Kessef) - Up to 20K ILS monthly - no daily transaction limit
3. Credit/Debit Card loading - Up to 10K ILS monthly - changing daily limit.
4. Wire transfer -
- Transfer from the customer's own account - 10K ILS monthly
- Transfer from the customer's employer the limit is up to 10k ILS monthly. If they wish to send more than 10k they will be required to provide a salary  slip/employer letter or other proof to be approved by the compliance officer

What are the cash pick-up limits in the Philippines?

The limits below are per order and according to the cash pick-up outlet:

  1. Cebuana - 50,000 pesos
  2. Palawan   - 50,000 pesos
  3. M Lhuillier - 100,000 pesos

How to send to Cash Pick-up in the Philippines?

You can send to a choice of cash pick-up outlets. When sending money home through your Rewire app, you can choose Metrobank for cash pickup.
Your beneficiary will then be able to collect the money from any Metrobank cash pickup point in the Philippines including M Lhuillier, Cebuana, Palawan Express, Metrobank, LBC and many more see a full list here.

  1. To place an order you need to select the “SEND MONEY” tab,
  2. Enter the amount, and choose the 'Cash Pick-Up" receiving option.
  3. Add beneficiary details and choose which Cash-pick-up, we recommend selecting "Metrobank" (which includes all the pick-up businesses)
    and then the address of the location.
  4. Lastly, confirm whether all details mentioned & the amount are correct.

How to send to a bank account/BDO in the Philippines

In order to send money to mobile wallet, you need to select “SEND MONEY” Tab in the app

What is the UPI transfer method?

Unified Payment Interface (UPI) is a popular payment method in India. It allows you to transfer money fast and securely to a bank account in India, with no need to type a long bank account number - all you need is to type a short Virtual Payment Address (VPA) and your order is ready to go.

What is a VPA and how do I generate it?

Virtual Payment Address (VPA) is your UPI ID. It is a short ID that you can easily generate by following 5 simple steps: 

1) Download a UPI-enabled app

2) Provide your bank account details

3) Choose a VPA

Why should I use UPI and not transfer directly to a bank account?

Questions on on the New Israeli Limits Regulations

Due to a new Israeli law regarding international money transfers, all users need to sign certain paperwork in order to keep their accounts active.

Why do I need to sign additional forms?

On 14.11.2021, there will be a change in the Israeli regulations according to which, users who want to transfer more than NIS 50,000* in the next six months (starting November 14, 2021), need to finish the full registration. Once the full registration is complete you can enjoy the higher limit of up to NIS 20,000  a month (depending on the deposit method).

The full registration process includes:

  • Uploading a second ID (that wasn’t previously used for registration)
  • Signing a registration questionnaire
  • Filling in the “Service Recipient Declaration Form”

What happens if I don’t sign the papers?

You can still use your account, however, if you wish to avoid issues in the future when passing the new limits we strongly recommend completing the full registration.
Once the full registration is complete you can enjoy the higher limit of up to NIS 20,000  a month (depending on the deposit method).


What documents do I need to take with me?

You can provide us one of the following documents as a second ID (that wasn’t previously used for registration):

  • Border control approval
  • Valid work visa
  • Valid Israeli driver's license or of the country of origin
  • Israeli HMO card (Kupat Holim Card) with name
  • Valid bank credit/debit card with the name
  • National ID card from country of origin

*As of June 25th, 2021, money transfers to the Philippines are limited to ILS 5,000 per transaction, and since 14.11.2021, there was a change in the Israeli regulations according to which, users who want to transfer more than NIS 50,000* in the next six months (starting November 14, 2021) need to complete the enhanced registration. In cases where the full registration is completed, the previous 2 limits can be cancelled. 

How do I use my Balance?

Once you have made an order for the amount you would like to send, you need to deposit/ wire transfer an amount equal to your order minus the balance. For example, if you have a balance of 50 in your account, you need to make an order for 1050 & deposit 1000. This way, the balance of 50 will be added to the order.

How do I set up an online postal account (level/Rama 4)
Making a Postal online transfer to your Rewire account gives you freedom as you do so anytime, anywhere.
1. To set up your online postal (Doar) account, you’ll need to first go to the nearest post office and ask for online access to your account.
2. Tell the teller “I want level 4 for my Postal Online Account” (Level 4 / RAMA 4)
2. When the teller registered your Doar account to level 4 she will ask for your passport and the phone number you used in opening your Doar account.
3. She will give you the envelope with your username and password in it.
4. Once u both have that then you will be ready to send online within 5-7 business days.

Your employer can make a wire transfer directly to your Rewire account as follows:

  1. They need to login to their own bank account and make a transfer to:

How long can I Keep the Balance in my Account For?

We hold balances for 3 business days, it is mandatory to send money once you deposit. Since we don’t work as a bank, we do not allow you to hold your balance for saving purposes or rate fluctuations.

How does my beneficiary collect the money from Cash Pick-Up?

The beneficiary will get an SMS with a code from the supplier that they need to show the vendor to pick up the money, they must also show an ID that matches the full name of the beneficiary written in Rewire.

Can I receive money from my home country to my account here?

Rewire is an online banking platform for migrants living in Israel, so we create services to support them while living in Israel including sending money home to their families and friends. We don't act as a regular international money transfer so for now it only operates from Israel to your home countries.

How long does it take before my family gets the money?

The time to transfer money to your Rewire account depends on the mode of transfer as below:

  • Transfer to a bank account - between 10 minutes up to 1 business day
  • Transfer to a Cash Pick up and BDO bank - Immediately
  • Mobile Wallet - immediately

Where can I find my history of transactions?

You need to sign in your Rewire account, open the "History" tab where you will find all the details of your Rewire transactions.

How do my beneficiaries get my money?

It depends on the mode of transfer you choose.  They can receive it by bank transfer, cash pick-up (the Philippines and Nigeria only), or mobile wallet option (Philippines and China). You will get an email and SMS when the money has arrived at its destination. Additionally, it will appear in the order history tab, it will say "order complete."

For Cash Pick-up: The beneficiary will get an SMS notification from the supplier with a code that they need to show the vendor to pick up the money they must also show ID that matches the full name of the beneficiary written in Rewire.

Mobile Wallet: The beneficiary will get an SMS/notification on their phone when it arrives

How will I know when the money has arrived?

What is an SSS number and how do I get it?

An SSS number is a 10 digit unique number provided by SSS to its members. Regardless of the change of citizenship, the SSS number is a lifetime number for a member. What if I have an SSS number but haven’t paid in a while?

Issuance of an SSS number does not immediately qualify you for coverage or benefits. However, after you meet certain requirements and you become covered by SSS, you are a member for life. Contributions you pay become savings for the future, so even if you haven’t paid contributions for a while, you could still qualify for SSS benefits. How do I pay SSS in the Rewire app?

It’s simple to make an SSS payment. First, you need to have already signed up or log in to your Rewire account. 

  1. Get your SSS number ready. If you don’t have an SSS number yet or your number is outdated, please contact

  2. When on the Home tab, click on the top right corner the 3 dots to open the side menu.
  3. On the side menu click “SSS”, then fill in your SSS details, verify and confirm the payment. If you don’t yet have money loaded on your account it will ask you to load money either via cash deposit at Super-Pharm  or via wire transfer.
    If you choose "Wire Transfer" click on the third option to see the Rewire bank details to send it too.

What are the Rewire Cash Card terms of use?

You have a max daily withdrawal/purchase/online purchase limit of NIS 5,000, each.

You have a max monthly withdrawal/purchase/online purchase limit of NIS 20,000, each.

 

The new Rewire Cash Card allows you to have a balance of up to ₪100,000 and use it whenever you want, wherever you want.  

For example, when you leave Israel for the last time, you wouldn’t need to wait for your salary, compensation, or Bituach Leumi. Instead, you’d be able to simply travel back home and have continuous access to your funds via the international Rewire Cash Card. Note that the monthly NIS 10 card fees keep your account active, so make sure you withdraw all your funds before you close it.

What do you need to bring in order to get the Rewire Cash Card?

You’ll need to bring your passport, a second ID (Valid Visa, 101 Form, Pay slip, or Philippine driver’s license), and your smartphone to activate your bank account.

How can I ensure my salary is deposited into my Cash Card account?

You should notify your employer with your account details:

Why do I need to provide proof of my identity?

In order to secure all your data privacy & personal information Rewire follows International rules & regulations, it is a necessity to obtain Identity for each user to utilize all the benefits of our services. As a client of our service, you will be required to verify your identity or personal information. The other reason we do this is so we can verify that only you are able to send your money. Among the types of information, we may request are your full name and date of birth, plus documents such as your passport, driver’s license, or national I.D. card.

How to unsubscribe from communication?

Communication is key to understanding your account activity and it is vital to ensure healthy financial management. Through various communication methods including SMS, email, and app notifications, Rewire can let you know of movements in your account as well as special promotions and discounts.

We take measures to protect your identity so you can send money securely. You can help us keep your profile secure by doing the following:

  • Select a strong password (with upper case, lower case letters and at least a number) and change it often. 
  • Don’t share your login details with anyone. 
  • Reset your password if something doesn’t look right. If you receive an update about recent changes to your profile or activity that you aren't familiar with, changing your password right away is the best thing to do.
  • Download the Rewire app from the App Store or Google Play Store. While our website is safe as well, the Rewire app offers better security than web browsers, as well as a more intuitive user experience and the ability to receive notifications about transfers and profile activity.

Why do you need my documents?

Rewire is a licensed money transfer company regulated by Israel’s Ministry of Finance. As such, we are required to verify your identity before we can make any transfers on your behalf. I can't open the Rewire app. What should I do?

If you can’t open the Rewire app, you might need to update the software on your mobile phone or update the app to its latest version. 

If you have Android device, follow these instructions:

  • How to update the software on your mobile phone
  1. Open your Android's Settings
  2. Scroll down and tap “System”
  3. Tap system updates
  4. Tap download and install

All set. Your device will update to the latest version of Android

  • How to update the Rewire app:

How can I change my phone number or address?

In order to change your phone number, follow these steps:

  1. Open your Rewire app and log in to your account.
  2. Choose the "More" option in the menu.
  3. Once the "More" option is open, choose "Profile Settings".
  4. After your "Profile Settings" appear on the screen, you'll see your phone number and, next to it, the option "Change number".
  5. Click on the link to change number and then type your new number.
  6. Click on "Update," and this is it.

What if I don't update my OS but have Rewire app?

You can continue using Rewire just as you are. However, without an updated  operating system, you won't be able to download any new updates for Rewire. This means you might miss out on new features, improvements, or security patches released.

How can I update my phone’s operating system?
